Sourcing a well-made outdoor dining table at 3 metres is already a challenge. At 4 metres, it’s almost unheard of. When a client in Surrey approached us, they were looking for something that simply didn’t exist off the shelf.

The Brief

The client required a statement piece—something substantial enough to suit the scale of their outdoor space, while remaining refined and considered in its design. It needed to accommodate larger gatherings with ease, without feeling oversized or imposing.

The Process

Following an initial consultation, we recommended a bespoke 4-metre version of our Axis table, carefully proportioned to suit both the setting and intended use.

As with any piece of this scale, durability was a key consideration. The client wanted reassurance that the concrete would remain structurally sound over time. We addressed this through a carefully engineered approach—incorporating a concealed internal steel frame, along with glass fibre reinforcement and basalt rods within the concrete itself. This ensured the table achieved both strength and longevity without compromising its clean, minimal form.

To provide complete clarity before production, we developed detailed 3D CAD drawings. These allowed the client to fully understand the scale, balance, and presence of the piece within their space.

Once approved, we sent a selection of material samples—offering a tactile sense of the finishes and ensuring every detail met expectations.

When a client approached us, they had already explored what the market had to offer - and found nothing that felt right for their home. They weren’t simply looking for a dining table. They wanted a piece that would integrate effortlessly within their space, both visually and materially.

We began by translating their ideas into a series of design drawings, exploring how the table could be reinterpreted to better suit their space.

Particular attention was given to the base. The client requested a bespoke metal frame in a specific colour—something that would complement the surrounding materials without dominating the room.

To ensure absolute accuracy, we produced and sent a selection of custom finish samples. This allowed the client to assess the tone and texture in their own environment, ensuring the final choice felt considered and precise.
